Senior Credit Officer Opinion Survey on Dealer Financing Terms
The Federal Reserve Board’s Senior Credit Officer Opinion Survey on Dealer Financing Terms (SCOOS) is a quarterly survey providing information about the availability and terms of credit in securities financing and over-the counter (OTC) derivatives markets. Dealers are asked to provide information about lending to hedge funds as part of the core survey questions asked every quarter.
The survey panel for the SCOOS varies but it typically includes financial institutions that account for the vast majority of all dealer financing of dollar-denominated securities. Responses to the survey are typically collected during the middle of the second month of each quarter (February, May, August, and November) and measure changes in credit terms and conditions relative to three months prior.
