The OFR and the University of Michigan’s Center on Finance, Law, and Policy hosted this third annual Financial Stability Conference on November 16-17, 2017 at the University of Michigan Law School.

Financial technology, or FinTech, continues to disrupt and evolve, not only in how financial products and services are delivered, but in who delivers them. Regulators and market participants face challenges in understanding and balancing the benefits of FinTech against its potential risks. At this two-day event, researchers, policymakers, students, and practitioners explored innovation risks and opportunities from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Lael Brainard of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and Gillian Tett, U.S. Managing Editor of the Financial Times, delivered keynote remarks.
